NEW YORK – BusinessWire – Edelman Smithfield, a global financial communications firm that specializes in financial markets and strategic situations, today announced three senior appointments that will support the firm’s continued expansion across M&A, shareholder activism, IPOs, and investor relations. 

Amy Feng has been appointed Executive Vice President and will be a senior leader in the firm’s New York office. Feng most recently led investor relations at Shopify (NYSE: SHOP). Prior to Shopify, Feng was a Managing Director at Joele Frank Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher, where she advised executives and Boards on a wide range of issues of critical importance to shareholders and other stakeholders. She has also served as an Executive Vice President at Abernathy MacGregor, a Managing Director and Senior Research Analyst at JMP Securities, and an Equity Research Senior Analyst at Lehman Brothers.  

Feng is also currently on the Board of Whitestone REIT (NYSE: WSR), a real estate investment trust that acquires, owns, operates, and develops open-air retail centers. 

Ira Gorsky has been promoted to Managing Director. With over 25 years of experience in the capital markets, Gorsky is a senior leader in the firm’s New York office and specializes in M&A, crisis, and litigation matters. Prior to Edelman, he was a managing member of Arch Research Inc., where he developed analytical research on M&A, activist campaigns, financial restructurings, and regulatory and policy shifts. 

Marco Castellani has been appointed Senior Vice President and will help expand the firm’s shareholder activism capabilities. Castellani was most recently at Citigroup where he served as a Director in the bank’s Shareholder Advisory Group, focusing on shareholder activism defense and contested M&A. Prior to Citigroup, he was a consultant with Boston Consulting Group, where he focused on corporate development, strategy, and turnarounds.
